In 2015, the Gladiator of the Year was awarded to the person who had the best combination of outstanding performance and positive contribution to the growth and quality of the league. It was measured by the following:

  1. Total points throughout regular season competition from the spring, summer, and fall seasons
  2. Number of players referred into the league
  3. Bonus points earned from playing ratings matches, sub matches, & receiving an excellent rating on initiative and availability in scheduling matches.

Dara and Marek each won a free year of Gladiator Tennis, a $100 Gift Certificate, and a beautiful glass award. Congratulations to both of them on an outstanding year, and making an outstanding impact on the league!

Gladiator Tennis will be expanding to NW Indiana in 2016!

Players have been migrating from NW Indiana for over 4 years now to join our divisions in the south suburbs if Chicago. Finally in 2016, we will be starting divisions in NW Indiana, and adding court locations in that area to our list of home courts. Anyone who refers 1 new player into the league from NW Indiana will get 20 extra bonus points that can be “cashed in” for a free season!

Further improvements to the website in 2016!

Every year we make improvements to the website, based on input from players. In 2016, the scheduling tool will be improved so that it is working for everyone, players will receive additional wildcard points for playing “sub” matches, and other improvements to the “Match History” and “Hall of Fame” pages will be evident.

9 Consecutive Years of Growth - 1000 singles players, 400 doubles players expected in 2016!

Gladiator Tennis has grown quietly but quickly in its first 9 years through word of mouth, coffee shop flyers, and minimal amount of advertising in local newspapers and online. We originated in the western suburbs of Chicago in 2007, and slowly spread out from there each year. In 2016, we will devote a full time effort to further strengthening the concentration of players in the city of Chicago, south suburbs/NW Indiana, and St. Louis. 800 singles players and 400 doubles players are expected, which means even shorter driving times and more evenly matched competition. Why is the league growing rapidly? No one else in Chicagoland and St. Louis makes it so easy for tennis players to get back in the game. Gladiator Tennis uniquely offers:

  • Flexible scheduling format
  • Low $40 entry fee, with no additional court costs or membership fees
  • Driving times to opponents' courts that are no more than 20 minutes away

The league is also growing because players enjoy how professionally and tightly the league is run. See our Testimonials page to see what our players have to say. Join us, and find out for yourself! Get ready to experience the best season we have ever had!
